Privacy Policy
Pamo is an app for run clubs: find a club, RSVP to group runs, log your runs, and keep up with the people you run with. Pamo is run by Isaiah Fleming and Trevor Warren ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. Pamo is currently in testing, so features (and this policy) may change. We'll update the date above when they do.
The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account and its data from the app at any time.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and password (stored securely by our sign-in provider), or your Apple or Google sign-in. Your email is never shown to other people.
- Profile: your name, and optionally a photo, school, and Instagram handle. Other signed-in people can see these.
- Runs you log: distance, time, date, effort, notes, and photos. You choose who sees each run (your followers, and/or clubs you're in).
- Apple Health (optional): if you connect it, Pamo reads your running workouts (distance, duration, and date) only when you pick one to log. We never write to Apple Health, never read routes, and never use Health data for advertising or share it with anyone for that purpose.
- Clubs and activity: clubs you join or create, RSVPs, follows, likes, comments, announcements, club photos, and badges.
- Messages: the 1:1 messages you send. They're stored on our servers so they can be delivered; they are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Location (optional): to show runs near you, the app uses your location (blurred to about a quarter mile before it leaves your phone) to sort runs by distance. We don't store it. You can search a city or zip code instead.
- Notifications: a push token for your device, and which kinds of notifications you've turned on.
- Safety: reports you make and people you block.
Photos you upload are resized and re-saved before upload, which removes hidden location data (GPS) from them.
How we use it
Only to run Pamo: show your profile, runs, and clubs to the people you choose; send the notifications and emails you've asked for (like sign-up codes and password resets); keep the community safe (reviewing reports, limiting spam); and fix problems. We don't use your data for advertising and we don't sell or rent it.
Who else handles it
We use a few services to run the app. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in, and photo storage.
- Expo: delivers push notifications (with Apple's push service).
- Resend: sends account emails (sign-up codes, password resets).
- Apple and Google: if you sign in with them, and Apple for app distribution.
We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect people's safety.
What other people see
Other signed-in Pamo users can see your name, photo, school, Instagram handle, badges, clubs, follower counts, and the runs you've shared with them. Club members can see who's going to a club's runs. Clubs' runs and meetup spots are visible to signed-in users so people can find runs near them. You can make your account private, so new followers need your approval, and you can block anyone.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists. Settings → Delete Account permanently deletes your account, profile, runs, photos, messages, comments, likes, follows, RSVPs, and memberships. Announcements you posted as a club officer stay with the club without your name, and clubs you created stay if they have other members (if you're their last officer, you'll be asked to make someone else an officer first). Copies may remain in backups for a short time before they're overwritten.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and who sees each run at any time.
- Turn each kind of notification on or off in Settings, or turn them off in iOS Settings.
- Turn off location or Apple Health access in iOS Settings at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing us.
Age
Pamo is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 is using Pamo, let us know and we'll delete their account.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and our database only lets each person read and change what they're allowed to. No system is perfect, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.
